Port Gibson, Mississippi native Michael K. Strawberry, is formally the Acquisitions Librarian / Public Services Director at the J. D. Boyd Library at Alcorn State University, also for a number of years he was a High School English Instructor at Central Alternative School in the Natchez-Adams School District. He has always been a strong believer in Christ since his early ages of childhood. This belief has been his driving force in helping and caring for others and being a public servant to the communities in which he has lived and served. He has always been an active, vibrant, and caring person in his various careers and also very supportive to any and every one he encounters. His plans for the future are to become part of the community in which he serves and to help grow and flourish the wonderful family, friends, and patrons of the Judge George Armstrong Public Library. The greatest accomplishments for him is becoming the director of the library, with close choices of receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Alcorn State University and receiving his two (2) Master’s Degree; the first from Mississippi State University in Workforce Education and his second in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas, located in Denton, TX. Working for the public has always been a pleasure for him. His future ambitions will be to receive his PhD in Educational Leadership to continue his growth and development in the educational bracket. He is forever humbled and appreciative.
